A few things to remember:
- Ensure both your batting AND backing have an extra 4 inches on EACH SIDE of your quilt, totaling 8 inches. This guarantees ample fabric for loading on the quilter leads and for clamps on both sides, creating a smooth canvas for the quilter.
- i.e. - quilt top measures 45 X 60 = your batting & backing should measure (at least) 53 x 68"
- If your backing requires a seam, please ensure that the seam lays parallel to help create a wrinkle-free backing once loaded on the quilter. If you're unsure whether the seam will lay correctly, I’d be happy to piece the backing for you. If the seams do not lay parallel, I will contact you with possible solutions, which may incur additional charges.
- Ensure all loose threads on the quilt are trimmed to prevent them from poking through the fabric and potentially getting caught by the presser foot.
- Ensure removal of all pins or clips utilized in the sewing process.
- Please ensure pressing is done to the best of your ability before submitting your quilt and backing. I commonly utilize a large Cricut Easy Press iron for a final press before the quilt is placed on the quilter. If you prefer me not to iron, kindly notify me via a separate email.
- No need to baste your quilt layers! We have a precise method to load on the machine, allow me to handle it!
- Any embellishments should be sewn on after the quilting process is finished.
- Please note that if your quilt or backing includes directional fabrics, the specifications for both the quilt top and backing should be provided either via email or attached to your quilt. Additionally, if you have a preferred direction for the quilting design, please be sure to indicate that as well.
- PICK-UP/RETURN SHIPMENT
- Once your quilt is complete, I will reach out to you via your preferred method to arrange pickup.
- If you're opting for shipping, I will send you an invoice for payment and will coordinate the shipment once the quilt is finished.
- Disclaimer: Please note that while we strive to create the highest quality quilts, we understand that no quilt is flawless. We will do our best to minimize any imperfections. However, we cannot be held accountable for issues such as holes in seams, thick spots, visible dark threads, or fullness in the borders and/or quilt. In cases of fullness, a "faux seam" may be used to help conceal these areas.
